An initiative of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool has been the establishment of an Early Loss Memorial Tree at Tooram Memorial Park. This has been established in collaboration with the Warrnambool Cemetery Trust and provides a location where babies lost under 20 weeks gestation can be memorialised. In addition, this site can also be used for babies or children who have previously died and for which there are no bodily remains. Tokens in the form of a leaf or butterfly are engraved and added to the Memorial Tree to provide lasting memorialisation for years to come.
